Happy Friday! If you’re looking for a place to unplug, unwind & get healthy in a gorgeous setting then the The Ranch Malibu is the place to go. I came across it several years ago because I love the work of Scott Shrader who did the landscape design for the The Ranch. However, as you’ll see in the photos below the interior design is just as beautiful!

Have a great Weekend!

Arijiju is a beautiful private home, retreat and spa set in the Borana Conservancy in Kenya’s Laikipia County. There’s an understated elegance to the design of Arijiju and its unobtrusive structure seems to blend seamlessly into Kenya’s landscape. The architecture is by Alex Michaelis of London-based Michaelis Boyd and Johannesburg-based architect Nick Plewman. The interior design is by Maira Koutsoudakis of Life Interiors Architecture Strategic Design. Scroll down to see more of this gorgeous retreat.

As a designer I look to a lot of places for inspiration and hotels are a great source. This morning I came across this beauty — San Giorgio on the Greek Island of Mykonos and just had to share.

The interior design is by Annabell Kutucu & Michael Schickinger.

Have a great weekend!!

Happy Wednesday! Today, I’m sharing my latest hotel crush — Casa Cook in Rhodes, Greece. A boutique hotel designed by architect Vana Pernari and interior designer Annabell Kutucu. I can’t decide which I’m in love with more — the interior design of Casa Cook or the exterior design. Which is your favorite?

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

xoxo,

Shannon

Although, I didn’t have much time for sightseeing on my recent trip to London, I was determined to visit Petersham Nurseries. Located a short walk from the train station, along the River Thames, Petersham has two cafes, a wine cellar and an inspiring garden center.

The setting around Petersham couldn’t have been more picturesque.

How lovely & simple is this?

Although, I couldn’t bring back gorgeous plants or antiques, I was able to enjoy a beautiful lunch and take it in, if only for an hour. Looking forward to my next visit!

The Satyagraha House was built in 1907 by the German architect, Hermann Kallenbach, a close friend of Mohandas ‘Mahatma’ Gandhi, who lived there from 1908 to 1909. The house, which is now part guesthouse part museum, is located in Johannesburg and was originally designed after a traditional African farm, called a Kraal.

If I could have a home built just like this and dropped right into my Southern California neighborhood I would be oh so happy! The simplicity of the architecture, black and white palette and mix of organic materials is simply beautiful. Click here to read more about this gem.
