I’m so excited to share my latest project with you — a pilates studio in Studio City, California. This was such a fun project to design, and I couldn’t have asked for a better client.

Before

My goal for the studio was to create a space that felt light and airy, yet completely relaxed. The owner, Angie, is so friendly and personable that I really wanted the space to reflect her personality. I designed a seating area that would be comfortable, yet understated, so not to take away from the real stars — the pilates equipment.

I added a mix of both faux and real plants.

THE LOCKER ROOM

The exterior was fairly simple — paint, a new awning, grasses that would move in the wind and some privacy for the clients.

Happy Wednesday!

I’m a new believer in faux flower arrangements. After visiting one of my favorite stores in Mallorca last week, I came away completely inspired. Two days after I arrived back home I was in my local craft store picking out some for myself. The vibrant colors are perfect for the spring. Below, are some of my favorite examples.

Some of my favorite places to purchase faux flowers are Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Pottery Barn and Rolling Greens (here in Los Angeles). My advice would be to go with a larger arrangement — it adds more color and drama. Have fun!

Although I love the beautiful dainty pendant for a kitchen island, I was reminded by this image, how an oversized pendant can take a normal space and turn it into an extraordinary space — love it!

Don Totu Dimora Storica is an 18th century palazzo turned six bedroom B&B in Puglia. I love how the texture and color of the exterior walls acts as the perfect backdrop for the different varieties of cactus, lavender and other plant life. Super gorgeous and inspiring!

Happy Friday! If you’re looking for a place to unplug, unwind & get healthy in a gorgeous setting then the The Ranch Malibu is the place to go. I came across it several years ago because I love the work of Scott Shrader who did the landscape design for the The Ranch. However, as you’ll see in the photos below the interior design is just as beautiful!

Have a great Weekend!

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I’m sharing one of my favorite houses in Mexico — El Mirador House. Located in Valle de Bravo, a popular vacation spot just two hours southwest of Mexico City, El Mirador is a 5,000 square foot home by CC Arquitectos.

Happy Monday! Lately, I’ve been inspired to mix influences from South Texas and Mexico into my interiors. It may be due to my recent trip to my hometown on the border of Texas and Mexico but what ever the reason, I love the look! Below, I’ve put together my favorite elements for a very South Texas living room.

I love using hurricanes, especially these simple, yet modern, ones above from Crate & Barrel.

I also love to use photography and found this wonderful photograph from Parish Photo of a Charreada (Mexican Rodeo) in San Antonio, TX.
